How to style the perfect Wedding with Quarter

A guest blog post

All of us at Quarter love a fantastic wedding, in fact, two of our venues (No. 4 Clifton Village, and The Square) are fully licensed wedding venues while Racks is a fantastic wedding reception venue.

Planning a wedding isn’t easy so we thought it was time to share our styling secrets with you.

  1. Pick a Style

The theme of a wedding is one of the key factors which helps couples decide on the style they want. Shabby chic, vintage romance and modern chic are some of the most popular choices, but we have seen some really interesting themes in our time (one couple made over 600 paper cranes!) The next step is to find the perfect wedding venue to accommodate these ideas.

  1. Pick a Venue

Obviously we are bound to be a little biased towards our Bristol wedding venues but the most important thing is to know your venue can cater to your needs, is experienced and can accommodate the numbers you have in mind. Are you planning on having your wedding reception at the same venue as your ceremony, or perhaps moving between venues?

At Quarter we pride ourselves on the versatility of our venues No.4, located in the heart of Clifton village, is classic, sophisticated and ideal for intimate weddings. The decor is a mix of deep maroons and golds, set in a Georgian townhouse and with the benefit of a walled garden at the rear which is perfect for BBQs and Hog Roasts.

Racks; situated just off Whiteladies Road; is a converted wine cellar with a rustic and stylish decor to match. Hidden alcoves reveal sofas and intimate sitting areas, perfect for both laidback and fun wedding receptions. The terrace which offers a lovely outside space during the celebrations is always a winner during the summer.

The Square; modern, contemporary, colourful and stylish; can be found on Berkeley Square at the top of Park Street and is available for both civil wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions.

After choosing a venue, the styling is up next.

  1. Get Planning!

Each of our venues have their own events managers; who can each help you through the daunting process of planning and booking your wedding. We also have some recommended suppliers who we know will exceed your expectations.

  1. Pick your Suppliers

The next step is down to the bride and groom to be. We recommend you start looking into which flowers, decor, cake, centerpieces, lighting, seating etc. You would like to incorporate in your big day. We love working closely with the lovely Elizabeth Wong from Elizabeth Weddings. Liz does an amazing job of transforming our venues and placing our bride and groom’s visions before their eyes. Together, we host and style some really special weddings.

Styled shoot at No4 Clifton Village

I was fortunate enough to design and organise a styled shoot at No4 Clifton Village with some of the partners and suppliers at this lovely boutique Georgian Mansion in Clifton Village.

The design and moodboards were created to really compliment the venues interiors. I had chosen berry colours in pinks and reds and used hints of gold in the styling to reflect the ornate wallpaper. I added bespoke black and white striped table runners to add contrast. We continued the styling to the garden where we strung up paper lanterns in the trees.
